Mission Statement

Thousands of participants from across the Country come together for the more than16 mile journey from dusk to dawn to fight suicide and help the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention continue its mission to help those affected by suicide.

Hundreds of Volunteers are needed to make the Overnight Walk happen. Volunteers sign-up for short shifts at the Ceremony site (Fort Mason), Cheering stations along the Route and our Production Lot. 

VOLUNTEERS assist with:

  • Participant Check-In
  • Reviewing Participant Medical Forms
  • Traffic & Crowd Control
  • Ceremony site Tents & Tables
  • 2017 Registration
  • Incentives
  • Serving Breakfast
  • Cheering the Walkers along the Route
  • Set-Up and Pack-Up
  • Inventory Management.
