Mission Statement

Save A Dog is a humane society whose primary focus is rescuing and rehoming abandoned dogs.

Save A Dog is an all-breed, all-volunteer dog rescue group devoted to helping abandoned dogs find permanent homes in the New England area. We have a shelter in Sudbury, MA where we house the dogs who have just come in to the program. Other dogs reside in the foster homes provided by our experienced volunteer families. Teens who are 14 years and up who have dog experience are welcome to apply to volunteer to help at the shelter. Our teens volunteer from 3-5 on one week day afternoon every week or every other week. Save A Dog is a privately funded 501(c)3 organization. Save A Dog welcomes teen volunteers. If you want to work with the dogs, we do require some dog experience, but there are many other ways in which you can help. You can collect donations, have an information table at your school or other places, or help us with one of our events. See Web site for details.
