Sarah's Circle, a not-for-profit located in the Adams Morgan community of Washington, DC , is an award-winning affordable housing residence and Wellness Center providing comprehensive services for very low-income seniors.
Volunteers are key to our success. Whether you are looking for a recurring opportunity or a one-time day project, we can tailor our needs to your skills, availability, and interest.
Volunteering as a group? Many of our volunteer groups like to split their work and do some manual labor and an activity with our residents. Recently, the Kiwanis Club of Washington, DC came and renovated our courtyard to create a tranquil environment for our seniors to sit outdoors and enjoy the sunshine and new landscaping. After they completed the cleanup, planting, and furniture installation, they hosted a fun lunch for our residents.
Volunteering solo but not able to make a regular commitment? We are always looking for people to help us serve dinner every fourth Thursday of the month at 6:00pm. Duties include serving the meal, visiting with the diners, and helping our kitchen staff clean up. We often host a program or a performance after the meal and you are welcome to stay and enjoy that as well.
Volunteering alone and looking for a commitment? Look no further than Sarah’s Circle. We are always looking for passionate people who want to serve the elderly and who have unique talents to share with our group. You can develop your own program and curriculum and can come as often as you want. Most of our programs occur at least once per month but don’t let that deter you – if you have an idea, call us!
