Opportunities for Inclusion's mission is to serve children, adolescents and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families in the community, utilizing a person-centered planning approach.
One of the primary missions of Opportunities for Inclusion is to provide community inclusion for individuals with intellectual and developmentally disabilities. Often, this means taking participants from the building and out into the community. But just as often, it means volunteers coming to us and bringing the community into Opportunities for Inclusion.
WHAT YOU BRING
Your skills, talents, and interests in Opportunities for Inclusion individuals are gifts to us, and are greatly appreciated by everyone at Opportunities for Inclusion. Your time is one of the most valuable resources you may donate to us.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
If you are to work directly with participants, Opportunities for Inclusion provides you orientation and training. This orientation includes an agency overview, safety and confidentiality information, and some basic information about how to work with the individuals with intellectual and developmentally disabilities. You will always have an opportunity to consult with experienced Opportunities for Inclusion staff. Volunteers are not left alone with participants. If you are not working directly with the participants, Opportunities for Inclusion staff members will get you organized and set for your time with us.
