NY Artists Unlimited, founded in 1982, is dedicated to taking professional theatre to under-served audiences.
We perform in unconventional spaces, as well as theatres, opera houses, galleries, and more. Our audiences are people who cannot access theatre because of cost, physical/ mental challenges, age, infirmity, geography, and the like. Artistic Director Melba LaRose is listed in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who of American Women, and Who's Who in Executives and Professionals. The current project is "After the Wall," which is about walls throughout time and throughout the world -- why we build them, what people dream will happen after they fall, and what actually happens (usually, the building of more walls). Discussions follow all our performances.
