REALTalkDC of Whitman-Walker Health (formerly Metro TeenAIDS) is a community health organization dedicated to supporting young people in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
Metro TeenAids works to prevent the spread of HIV, promote responsible decision making, and improve the quality of life for young people infected with, or affected by, HIV/AIDS. MTA provides resources to help young people fight AIDS and support each other. MTA is the only organization in the Washington DC-metro area focusing all of its efforts on the unique prevention, education, and treatment needs of young people. During our 20+ years of service, Metro TeenAIDS has provided education programs and prevention resources to well over 200,000 young people, family members, and youth workers living in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area.
REALTalkDC is designed to educate young leaders to the various elements that combine to form a healthy, workforce ready generation. In turn, youth become committed to making a difference in their schools, homes, and communities. While receiving some of the most effective and interactive training from our youth and adult staff, participants are provided a continuum of experiences to ensure increased knowledge, responsibility, leadership opportunities and life skills in three major areas: health and wellness, youth leadership, and workforce readiness.
