Founded in 1850 by Gold Rush pioneers, Jewish Family and Children's Services (JFCS) of San Francisco is a catalyst for change, transforming our deeply held belief in the intrinsic value of each human life into a creative vision for alleviating suffering, enhancing potential and healing all who are in need.
Monday evenings, a dedicated group of senior ladies from the Former Soviet Union gets together to play Bingo in the dining room of their apartment building just off the Panhandle of Golden Gate Park, from 7 to 8:30 in the evening (start and end time are flexible).
The simple act of turning the small bingo wheel and calling out the numbers in a strong, clear voice brings joy into their lives! A punctual, kind, and patient volunteer is needed for Mondays . Volunteering alternate weeks is fine. No Russian is necessary, but if you do speak Russian, this is a good chance for a little practice.
