Bernie’s Book Bank sources, processes and distributes quality new and gently used children’s books to significantly increase book ownership among at-risk infants, toddlers and school-age children throughout Chicagoland.
Our mission is possible because of the help and dedication from volunteers like you! We value your time: When you volunteer for Bernie’s Book Bank, it is our goal to ensure that you receive much MORE than you give. We encourage individuals, families and groups of any size to spend their community service hours sorting and bagging books for us. We welcome volunteers of all ages and abilities. The processing center is heated and cooled, but it is a warehouse setting. Please wear closed toe shoes.
