First Graduate's mission is to help students finish high school and become the first in their families to graduate from college. We make a 10-year commitment to students, starting the summer after sixth grade through college graduation.
Are you looking for a regular volunteer opportunity where you can work directly with students? Become a First Graduate Academic Coach!
First Graduate helps students finish high school, become the first in their families to graduate from college, and launch trailblazing careers. On this path to college our students need help improving their academics and becoming the best students they can.
This is where you come in. We're looking for Academic Coaches (our word for "tutors") to give students homework assistance and help them develop organization and study skills. You will work directly with small groups of First Graduate students to help them succeed in school. This is a truly hands-on volunteer opportunity that makes a huge impact on our students' lives.
We ask Academic Coaches to make a one-semester commitment, from October 5th - December 11th, and volunteer at least once a week. Academic Coach with Middle School Students Tuesdays and/or Thursdays 4:30 - 6:15.
We provide all Academic Coaches with an in depth training, to prepare you to be an awesome and effective Academic Coach. The trainings are mandatory and all Academic Coaches are expected to attend.
