The Sleep Out: Student Edition is an opportunity for young adults to spend time together experiencing some of the problems that homeless young adults face every day and to be part of the solution to these problems.
Do you want to help kids who are homeless find hope?
A Sleep Out event can be held anywhere in the world, with just a few kids participating or with hundreds of kids sleeping outside for one night in solidarity with homeless youth. The structure of this event is similar to a Dance Marathon or Relay for Life with fundraising and awareness at the forefront.
Planning a Sleep Out event is a great way to learn about youth homelessness, support your peers and fulfill community service hours. Covenant House doesn't dictate dates or times for Sleep Out events, rather we follow your lead when making those decisions. You can plan a Sleep Out with your school, a faith community, a club or sports team, or with a group of like-minded friends -- some people sleep out in their own backyard!
