Mission Statement

The Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind helps people of all ages in the Maryland, D.C. and Virginia region overcome the challenges of blindness or vision loss and enable them to remain independent, active and productive in our society.

Our volunteer program provides many different services in support of CLB and its community. CLB?s volunteers attend orientations that include sensitivity training, human guide training, and information about CLB. Volunteers are required to complete an application, submit two completed reference forms from non-family members, and pass a background check.
