Providing innovative and interactive experiences in the arts for people of all ages and abilities.
The Boch Performing Arts Center's SM Education Department is committed to providing innovative and interactive experiences in the arts for people of all ages and abilities. Our FREE programs provide enhanced opportunities for young people, adults, families, schools, community organizations and artists to experience the arts. We invite you to explore our programs and to join us for an upcoming workshop, program or event. Through our commitment of collaborations, workshops, programs and resources, our mission is to share the arts through education, engagement, interaction and information. Whether your interest is as an active participant or as an enthusiastic audience member, our programs will show you that the arts are for everyone. We are pleased to announce the City Spotlights High School Internship program for students ages 14 - 19. City Spotlights is an excellent opportunity for energetic and creative students with an interest in the performing arts and working with the community, theater companies, professional teaching artists, students, teachers and families. This program will explore personal stories and the stories of residents from four Boston neighborhoods to begin to spotlight their individual and collective unique identities. The City Spotlights internship offers a variety of responsibilities and learning experiences, including: joining an ensemble of peers led by a performing arts professional to create an original performance piece; contributing to the creation and implementation of community workshops and performances; communicating with teaching artists, workshop participants, and theater company managers; increasing knowledge of professional job readiness skills and resources; and working cooperatively and collaboratively with members of the Boch Performing Arts Center SM education staff on large-scale projects and administrative tasks.
