With our 130,000 members, the California State Parks Foundation (CSPF) is the only statewide independent nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting, enhancing and advocating for California's magnificent state parks. Since 1969, CSPF has raised more than $223 million to benefit state parks. CSPF is committed to improving the quality of life for all Californians by expanding access to the natural beauty, rich culture and history, and recreational and educational opportunities offered by California's 279 state parks--the largest state park system in the United States.
We are currently looking for more volunteers to help out at Candlestick Point State Recreation Area. Each month, we hold one Wednesday workday and one Saturday workday at Candlestick. Wednesday workdays focus on assisting park staff with light maintenance. Projects include: tree trimming, brush removal, weeding, planting native trees and shrubs, and painting in the picnic areas.Whereas Saturday workdays may consist of any of the following: repotting and propagation in the nursery, weeding and maintenance of native plant areas and planting native species in various locations.
