Mission Statement

The Fulton County Library System serves as a cultural and intellectual center that enriches the community and empowers all residents with essential tools for lifelong learning. Teen volunteers assist in a variety of ways across our 34 locations. Last year our volunteer team included over 900 teens who served 10,000 hours.

Teen volunteers help return items to the shelves, assist with programs and share more about the library's resources. Teen volunteers must complete an application signed by both the volunteer and a parent/guardian and choose 2 to 3 library locations, so we can determine project availability. All volunteers complete an orientation, a shelving test (if applicable to the assignment) and set a schedule directly with the branch. Sorting, organizing and shelving books/videos/DVDs and CDs are vital to library operations.
