Teaching Summer Programs
Pre-college students with an eye on getting into education can immerse themselves in the field by enrolling in a Teaching Summer Program. These programs, typically aimed at high school students looking to study education in college, teach leadership and collaboration skills along with patience, enthusiasm, conflict resolution and dedication. Students can learn education needs at various levels, including pre-K, kindergarten, elementary school, middle school, junior high and high school.
There are experiential learning possibilities in classroom settings, and training in education theory, curriculum development and standardized testing. Students immerse in teaching preparation, lesson plans and subject matter expertise depending on their choice of career path. The programs are often available for college credit, and may be part of day or residential sessions.
