Running Summer Programs
Now a classic American sport and fitness regimen, running within an organized program allows pre-college students to train in diverse locations, learn running teamwork and receive mentoring from top college coaches and professional runners. Typically hosted as coed programs, with day and residential sessions available, Running Summer Programs put students on wooded trails, fields, beaches, tracks, roadside and cross country. Participants of all ability levels can practice the physical and mental endurance required for long distance running like marathons and half marathons, and also train for shorter runs such as the one-mile or 800 meters. Participants learn about form and pace, posture and stride rates. These programs show participants the cardiovascular, mental health and fitness benefits of running.
