Philosophy Summer Programs
Students seeking to ponder fundamental questions about the nature of life and knowledge, and boost their academic skills ahead of college, can enroll in Philosophy Summer Programs. These program feature college faculty and instructors who pose thought-provoking questions to students in classroom settings. Students also learn the foundations of philosophy, including critical discussion, rational argument and systematic presentation. They are exposed to a variety of disciplines such as Western Philosophy, Middle Eastern Philosophy, Indian Philosophy, East Asian Philosophy and African Philosophy. Sometimes philosophy is presented as a subject area within larger humanities and social sciences programs, especially paired with topics that spun off from philosophy in the past, including sociology, linguistics, psychology and economics. Students are taught in groups and receive individualized education. Training in metaphysics, epistemology and value theory can prove valuable in an array of academic and professional tracks.
