Archaeology Summer Programs
Students can roll up their sleeves and get their (gloved) hands dirty on an excavation as part of an archaeology summer program that will propel them toward STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) success in higher education and beyond. These unique programs give students an immersive experience combining focus areas such as local history, biological anthropology, classical studies and environmental science. Middle and high school students participating in Archaeology Summer Programs can join a university-based session, take part in camps centered around fieldwork or travel internationally to places like Pompeii and other ancient cities of Southern Italy. Future careers for interested students include underwater archaeology, bio-archaeology, biblical archaeology, cultural resource management, historical archaeology, prehistoric archaeology, community archaeology, digital archaeology and environmental archaeology.
