Montford Hall is a 24-bed residential substance abuse treatment program for boys ages 14-18. Montford Hall will be located in Asheville, NC, and serve a national market, with an emphasis on the Southeast.
Our mission is to help adolescent boys lead fulfilling lives free from the harmful effects of drugs and alcohol. Our program components will naturally overlap, amplifying opportunities for progress. For example, a client may not only get a good workout but also experience his own brand of spiritual awakening on a Saturday bike ride in the Pisgah National Forest. The pieces of a difficult geometry lesson may fall into place for him as he lays out garden beds for planting. He may feel a meaningful social bond jamming with other clients during a free hour after dinner one night. The Montford Hall program is crafted to introduce recovery into many domains, and to elicit maximum engagement along the way; for the adolescent, who hasn't battled the serious negative effects of his abuse year-in and year-out the way an older addict has, recovery must be made an especially attractive, inspiring choice.
