Announcing TeenLife's 2016 Guide to Performing and Visual Arts

If you have an “arts kid,” creativity probably runs through his or her brain all the time – snippets of script, a few bars of music, the colors for a new pot glaze. And then comes the time when all those imaginative ideas have to be corralled and discussed to figure out the next step after high school.

TeenLife Media and the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) can help!

TeenLife’s 2016 Guide to Performing & Visual Arts Colleges is the official program for the 22 performing and visual arts college fairs NACAC is sponsoring nationwide this fall. Founded in 1937, NACAC has 15,000 members dedicated to helping students make informed choices about post-secondary education. At TeenLife, we are also experts in helping students and parents make good choices, whether it’s a plan for college, a summer program or a gap year.

Our Guide to Performing & Visual Arts Colleges can help you navigate the decisions that make applying to arts programs particularly complicated and connect you with great programs throughout the country and the world.

The articles in this guide contain advice from musicians, artists, filmmakers and others on how arts majors can actually earn a living in in the arts while following their dream (something all parents worry about). And we have insider views from students on why they chose particular programs or schools.

The guide also lists more than 375 colleges and conservatories throughout the world who will be exhibiting at various NACAC fairs. You will receive a free print copy of the guide at any NACAC fair. Students are encouraged to register in advance to attend a fair so that their contact information can easily be scanned when they visit college exhibitors in person.

Can’t make it to a fair? Boxes of printed guides are available for sale (25 minimum copies) in the TeenLife Marketplace. The content is also available for free in the PVA Guide website and as a flipbook.

Need more? At TeenLife.com, you can find a summer arts program, an independent portfolio coach or a test-prep expert – whatever it is that your teen needs to find their place in the spotlight or behind the scenes. Be sure to sign up to receive our “insider” newsletters and announcements!
