It may be fun to lounge around in pajamas and veg out over winter break, but it’s also important to use the time off of school to explore new interests. After checking out the activities and programs below, you’ll find that there’s really no excuse for spending your time channel surfing and watching reruns this holiday break.

Diablo Glass School Teen Vacations Workshops: November 23rd-25th

The Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) and Diablo Glass School have collaborated to offer Teen Vacation Camps. Located just blocks from the MFA, Diablo is easily accessible by foot, car or public transportation. Diablo's facilities offer glass blowing, flameworking, and kiln forming studios. All camps start with an introduction at Diablo and then a tour of the MFA's glass collection. At the MFA, students discuss the history of glass, different techniques and artistic inspiration. After that, the teens return to the Diablo studio to start their intensive glass studies. Students choose between glass blowing or flameworking.  Four-day vacation week camps are also available with start dates on December 21st and December 28th.

From project placements for students and adults that include options such as care and community projects, teaching, sports coaching, internships, conservation, language and cultural courses, drama, dance, music and more, there’s bound to be a project that interests you. Travellers Worldwide also makes the process easy by assisting each participant in planning all aspects of their chosen project. Most projects are for students 17 and older, but if travelling with adults, younger students are also welcome. Bon voyage!
